This week’s RIA/PPC’s Weekly 5-Minute Update announced the November 1, 2013 opening of Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) Marketplaces.
Small businesses (defined as a business that employed at least one but no more than 100 employees on business days during the preceding calendar year, and employs at least one employee on the first day of the plan year) can enroll in the SHOP Marketplaces on November 1, 2013.
SHOPs are intended to allow small employers to offer employees a choice of qualified health plans, and the owner can take advantage of the coverage as well.
